Provenance: Spink, November 1896; Glendining's, February 1963.

James Barns - or 'Barnes' - enlisted in the Royal Artillery in 1792 and initially served in Borthwick's Company before removing to Gahan's Company as a Bombardier in May 1801. He was discharged in 1818; although not listed in Mullen's published roll, he does appear in Vigors's and MacFarlane's roll.
