Frank Nicholson was born on 23 October 1931 and was living at Thorne, near Doncaster, at the time of joining the Royal Army Service Corps in January 1950. Embarked for Korea in that August, he was awarded a £15 Korean gratuity on his return to the U.K. in August 1951; sold with the recipient's original Soldier's Service and Pay Book, and two photographs.
