""Punta De Arenas"" octagonal boxed handstamp (PUN-Pmk2) on wonderful March 15, 1851 folded letter to San Francisco, California, sent via the mail agent in Greytown (San Juan de Nicaragua) where all international mail was handled, and placed on the RMSP steamer Clyde bound for Chargres, upon arrival there it was carried across the Isthmus of Panama and delivered to forwarding agents, with neat complete complete strike of oval ""Forwarded by/Smith & Lewis/Panama"" handstamp on reverse, at its final destination of San Francisco a red ""30"" due rate handstamp was applied, very fine; a very scarce and desirable pre-stamp cover to Estimate US$ 300-350
