1866 (6 June) double rate envelope from Napier to Dunedin, bearing 1864-71 2d. blue Plate II pair (one with small fault) lightly cancelled "11" and with superb "too late" handstamp alongside, despatch and arrival c.d.s. on reverse; the Too Late handstamp possibly applied because the letter just missed an earlier sailing and later posted on the regular contract Inter-Provincial Services ship on its monthly voyage to connect at Port Chalmers with the service to Australia.
