Open Top Datestamp, Serif Letters: 1844-47 group of covers with 1844 (9 Nov.) entire to Messrs Wilson and Son, near Stirling with an order of 300 yards of Privates Soft Tartan for the 1st Battalion of the 71st Highland Light Infantry (who were soon to be transferred to Antigua); 1845 (10 July) entire letter from Trinidad (5.7) and carried privately to Grenada; 1846 (25 Aug.) entire to Trinidad with a very fine backstamp; 1847 (25 June) account sent to London being the Expenses and Supplies of the Grand Bacolet Estate and 1847 (23 Nov.) entire to the Colonial Bank, London marked "1/- Paid" in mauve with a fine strike of the datestamp on the flap. A good group. (5 covers)
