An early to modern accumulation of entire letters/envelopes/postcards, contained in two cartons, including pre-stamp with Dockwra type (3) and Bishop marks, Free with Irish, and good range straight-line handstamps, 1840 1d., 2d., Mulready 1d. (2, one used), exhibition, forwarded mail with additional stamps (5), instructional marking with 1940 envelope from Switzerland addressed to S.F. Rous, London (Sir stanley Rous was the Sixth Fifa President) with boxed "detained in france/during german/occupation" handstamp, postage due, postal stationery and registered mail. A most interesting lot well worth closer inspection. (hundreds)
