1875 official document bearing the seal of the Orange Free State and signed by State President J.H. Brand appointing Frederick Button Postmaster of Olifantsfontein and Justice of the Peace in the Boshof District, 1870 (c.) envelope front to State President J.H. Brand at Bloemfontein, bearing 1868 6d. pale rose with cork cancellation, possibly applied at Smithfield from note on reverse; small faults though to a most unusual pair of items.
