1866 (27 Mar.) sailor's envelope headed "From John Clark Proctor - Matron/Ascension" to Devonport, countersigned by Commanding Officer, showing fair "ascension/a/mr28/66" datestamp, red "paid/devonport/cape packet/3 ap/66" arrival and bearing GB 1d. with "250" barred oval cancellation of Devonport; a little stained and minor imperfections.
