1862 (3 Nov.) stampless envelope (opened-out) to Kent, rated "6" and with recipient's notation "Dated 29th. Oct. off Ascension Recd. 9th. Nov. 1862", showing "cape packet/no 28/1862/devonport" c.d.s. and, on reverse, a good strike of "ascension/a/no 03/62" c.d.s. and red London arrival (29.11); flap missing otherwise fine and accepted as the first recorded usage of the first circular datestamp used in Ascension Island.
