Cnut (1016-35), Penny, 1.06g, Quatrefoil type, Malmesbury, Brihtstan, diademed bust left within quatrefoil, rev. +BRICSTA[ ]N MEA, long cross voided on quatrefoil with pellet at apex of each cusp, each limb terminating in three crescents (N785; S1157 var), chipped and cracked, otherwise good fine, an extremely rare variety from a very rare mint.
