Founded in 1928 and merged in 1938 with Landeselektrizitäts AG. Today, the company is the largest electricity seller in Vorarlberg and Westallgäu. In 2001, Illwerke AG and Vorarlberger Kraftwerke AG merged to form the Illwerke/VKW-Group.
