This hydropower company was founded in 1927. The 1929 loan was issued by N.M.Rothschild in London. In 1930, the Illwerke started works in Vermuntstausees, later the Silvrettastausee at the Bielerhöhe (inaugurated in1951), the Lünersee (1959) and the Kopssee (1969). Today it is 95.5% owned by the Land Vorarlberg.
