The Bukum was founded in 1922 by Hugo Heller (1870-1923). It ran several bookshops in Vienna and acted as theatre agency and concert director. It owned shops in Regierungsgasse 1 and Bauernmarkt 3. Soon it ran into financial problems and had to be liquidated in 1933.
