Small Four Cents Surcharge Double
4c. on 3c. red [11] variety surcharge double in violet and in black, part original gum. Centred slightly left as are all stamps from the left side of the pane, fresh colour and white paper. There are a few patches of thinned gum with a couple of spots which go into the paper. The stamp shows the small plate scratch outside the lower left corner of sheet position [26]. Holcombe signature and Senf handstamp on the reverse.


Only one pane of twenty five stamps was printed. There are only 17 unused and 4 used stamps recorded. An important rarity of the Revenue Surcharge issue. S.G. 94a, £250,000; Chan 85a
