1890 (7 Sept.) large envelope registered to Germany bearing, on the reverse, 1ca., 3ca. (4) and 5ca. (13) cancelled or tied by Tientsin seal in violet with the despatch c.d.s. alongside. The 5ca. include an interpanneau block of twelve from Setting X. With Shanghai Customs (12.9) and Berlin arrival (21.10) alongside. The address side with France 1f. Peace and Commerce tied by "shang-hai/chine" c.d.s. (the 25c. has been removed; the envelope has been reduced on the open side and there are two vertical creases, one going through the adhesives.
