1877 (21 Oct.) opened out envelope to Massachusetts "(viâ San Francisco)" bearing Japan 1875-76 Cherry Blossom 5s. green cancelled by crossroads obliterator with "i.j.postal agency/shanghai" c.d.s. (24.10), Yokohama (5.11) and San Francisco (25.11) transit c.d.s. alongside, the reverse bearing a fine strike of "customs/kiukiang" despatch c.d.s. in red with a faint strike of similar for Shanghai (21.10) alongside.


A fine and attractive cover. Scarce use of the Cherry Blossom stamp in China
