1873 (13 Mar.) opened out envelope to Madame G. Vapereau in Paris bearing, on the flap, a fine strike of the "customs house/shanghai/paid" dated double oval in red, sent via the British Post Office and bearing Hong Kong 1863-71 6c. and 30c. (applied over the edge of the envelope) tied by a single strike of "S1" in turquoise-blue with the despatch c.d.s. on the reverse, with Hong Kong (18.3), Montauban (28.4) where the letter was redirected to Paris, with other appropriate transit and arrival marks including diminuative "7/11" inspector's mark. Some light creasing at left.
This is the sixth cover of the seventeen recorded.
