98380 Blacksmith Samuel Morris, born Shrewsbury, Shropshire, July 1845; joined the Royal Navy, as Blacksmith's Crew in H.M.S. Asia, October 1876; promoted Blacksmith, February 1877; transferred to H.M.S. Active, April 1877; served as part of the Naval Brigade which landed at East London under Captain Wright, December 1877; returned to his ship, October 1878; transferred to H.M.S. Asia, October 1879; shore pensioned, October 1886.
