54859 Petty Officer First Class Richard Edwards, born Portsea, Hampshire, November 1851; joined the Royal Navy, November 1869; advanced Petty Officer Second Class, May 1877; transferred to H.M.S. Active, July 1877; promoted Petty Officer First Class, April 1878; transferred to H.M.S. Excellent, October 1879; shore pensioned, October 1889.
