1960 1R Red lilac with black "Service" overprint in Devanagan characters, tied to reverse of official cover by Gorkha postmark plus another strike on the front, to Kathmandu where backstamped, while the dates are difficult to read, the cancel tying the stamp is clear enough to be the corresponding date of 1961-62, very fine; this stamp was little used in the period of issuance and the remainders were made available for official and regular mail in 1983 when the remainders were place on sale to the public, catalog values represent this late release and usage; official covers legitimately used in the 1961-63 period are extremely rare also accompanied by another single tied to dated piece; 1985 Hellrigl certificate certifying the proper usage on cover (S.G. #O146).
