Hellrigl #8b var., 1886-89 2a Grey violet, early printings on native paper of good quality, imperforate, setting 6, positions 49-50/57-58, bottom left corner block of four with untrimmed sheet selvage but the paper was just shy of the size needed to show the sheet framelines, unused without gum as issued, transfer cliche plate flaws show in positions 50 and 58, bottom right corner squashed and dent in left margin respectively, both are quite prominent, very fine and nice position piece (Scott #8 var; S.G. #8 var.; £480+).
