Hellrigl #1a, 1881 1a Dull deep blue, pin-perforated on European wove paper, setting 2, deep rich color further specified on the certificate as dull dark grey-blue, especially well centered within large margins, full original brown gum as opposed to the earlier white o.g and very scarce, gum lightly toned which has slightly transpired to the face as is normal, h.r., extremely fine; Hellrigl notes on the certificate as well as in his handbook that this stamp is to be considered as very rare since only few copies of this setting are known in pin-perforated condition; 1984 Hellrigl certificate (Scott #1 var., S.G. var.; in 1984 Hellrigl values this at nearly three times the normal setting 1 perforated stamp).
