#A22, 1898-1900 Jamaica 1889 1d Lilac and red violet, well centered single tied to cover to Kingston, Jamaica by a superb strike of boxed "Cayman Brac/Cayman Islands" Ty. I handstamp, addressed to a Captain E. H. Foster, "Kingston/Sp 6, 99/Jamaica" backstamp, couple light vertical folds to cover not affecting the adhesive and a bit reduced at left, still very fine for this major rarity of Cayman Islands philately, with only six covers recorded with this cancel; where it realized an impressive $11,000.00 hammer in 1995 (S.G. #Z22; £4,250).
