1900 (23 Apr.) Y.M.C.A. "crossed flags" envelope (Type E) from E.H. Strange of "G" Company" at Bloemfontein to New Brunswick, bearing G.B. 1d. lilac with large part F.P.O. c.d.s. and with fine oval-framed "canadian contingent/south africa" datestamp in red struck over flags, two St. John datestamps (23.5) on reverse, and 1900 (16 June) unstamped envelope from Lt. F.C. Jones of "G" Company at Springs, Transvaal, to New Brunswick, marked "No stamps available" and showing F.P.O. c.d.s. and light largely fine oval-framed "canadian contingent/south africa" datestamp (18.6) in lilac, arrival c.d.s. (18.7) on reverse; an interesting cover from Lt. Jones who received the first white flag of surrender at the battle of Paardeberg
