1900 (18 Apr.) 1d. letter card from R. Lecouteur of "E" Company to Quebec and (21 Apr.) envelope from C.W. Gamble of "A" Company to Victoria bearing ½d. pair, both from Bloemfontein cancelled by F.P.O. c.d.s. and showing oval-framed "canadian contingent/south africa." datestamp in red, the first (stains) includes "Lecouteur died when he accidently fell from a train at Worcester, C.C.", the second (sellotape repairs) with long letter which includes "At Paardeberg we got within about 200 yards of the Boer trenches then had to lie down as the fire was too hot"
