Asia
1781 Asia agreeable to the most approved Maps and Charts, By Mr. Kitchen; 17½ x 14¼ inches, uncoloured.
Copper engraving on laid paper. Kitchin was a prolific English mapmaker of the late eighteenth century and his maps were used for Millar's "Popular Geography" in 1781. Much detail is given, compiled from the best sources available in London at the time. Asia, though better known than in earlier, was still a generally mysterious continent to Europeans.
Vertical folding creases, paper split in the upper margin, just touching the map, a few light bends. Photo
