Gioachino Rossini
1854 (25 August) entire autograph letter to his sister in Ravenna, France and sent from Florence. He writes that he had been out for the first time since he was confined to his house for sixty days with the plague (probably cholera or yellow fever). The entire bearing Tuscany 1851-52 4c. (mixed margins) tied by despatch c.d.s., with four disinfection slits and Bologna oval handstamp and framed "PD"; generally clean and fine.



Also 1902 (30 March) A.L.S. letter and envelope from Georges Enescu (Rumanian composer) to Berlin and sent from Mihailen. A Richard Strauss signature; Robert Stolz signatures (2); various stamps relating to different composers including French die proofs of Saint Seans and J.P. Rameau and others. An interesting group.
