Queen Mary
1910 (24 May) autograph mourning letter to the Khedive, addressed to Cairo but redirected to Alexandria. The letterhead and envelope show the Queen's monogram which includes a fancy "victoria" in the centre. Written 18 says after the death of King Edward VII and includes, "I thank you very much for the kind letter of sympathy you have written to me on the sad loss we have sustained by the death of our King ..." and concludes, "Yours very sincerely, Mary". With the original envelope, sadly the stamp has been removed. Fine. Photo
