1857 (15 Jan.) Royal Artillery Commission signed "Victoria R I" at top, made out to Henry Rogers Ievers as a Lieutenant in the Royal Regiment of Artillery; with the royal wafer seal and £1.10.0 embossed duty seal in blue. Some heavy folding creases with small tape repairs on the reverse. Photo
Henry Robert Ievers (1834 - 1864 ) was born in Rasbarkin, Antrim, Ireland. School Christ's Hospital and was at Magdalene College Cambridge in 1853. A Lieutenemt in the Royal Artillery. He died in 1864 at sea coming home from Ceylon. (A large part of the Royal Artillery was in the Crimea in the War there at this time)
