The catalogue of the Francis collection was written by the owner. In a forenote he states 'My effort will be to describe every coin fairly and absolutely correctly. To overstate nothing, but to leave nothing of moment unsaid; and I hope to inspire the reader with absolute confidence that the coins are exactly as described, and they are to be sold on that understanding and may be returned otherwise.'
