Charles I (1625-49), Tower mint under the king, Shilling, 5.91g, group A, m.m. lis both sides, carolvs d: g: mag: br: fr: et hi: rex, crowned bust wearing coronation robes left, mark of value xii behind, rev. chris - to. avs - pice. r - egno., plain square topped shield on long cross fourchée, m.m. to left of cross fourchée (Brooker obverse 387, reverse - ; N. 2216; S.2782), slightly double struck on reverse otherwise good very fine with an attractive light tone
