Charles II (1660-85), hammered coinage 1660-62, second issue, Double-Crown, 4.57g, undated, i.m. crown on obverse only, pellet stops, carolvs. ii. d.g. mag. brit. fran. et. hib. rex, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, mark of value x behind, rev. . florent . concordia . regna., crowned, oval, garnished shield dividing c-r (Schneider class II, dies 03/R5; N.2756; Schneider 417 same dies; S.3305), double struck as often, minor metal flaw on reverse edge between 3 and 4 o'clock probably caused by double striking, an extremely fine coin with an excellent portrait and an attractive golden tone, rare
