Aethelred II (978-1016), Penny, 1.59g, Long cross type, York, Sumerlede, bare headed bust left, rev, +sumerleda m.o eofr, voided long cross each arm terminating in three crescents, pellet in second quarter (N.774; S.1151), a field find with porosity to obverse, a few light scratches, heavy, deep tone on this, pleasing, large flan and well centred, good bust, good very fine
