Anglo-Saxon, Post-Crondall types, c.655-c.75, Thrymsa, 1.27g, 'Concordia' type, radiate bust right, cross before, rev. clasped hands, nie above, inverted a below (Metcalf;- ;SCBI 63 BM, No 19-20; Sutherland 23-5; N.16; S.765), a field find with some scuffing and contact marks, barely perceptible bow at periphery above bust, surfaces generally surviving remarkably well, and a very crisp, clean strike on this, high gold content and lustre in recesses, extremely fine, c. 5 examples of this type known with fewer than this number available to commerce, excessively rare
