Charles I (1625-49), gold Crown, 2.24g, Group D, Tower mint under the king, m.m. triangle-in-circle, crowned bust left with falling lace collar, armour over shoulder, rev. crowned oval shield dividing crowned c r (N.2185a; S.2715), some weakness in legends and on reverse garniture, generally well preserved and the main appeal on this is the well rounded and good size flan, this piece centred and with a pleasing portrait, very fine
