William I (1066-87), Penny, 1.07g, Canopy type, Thetford, Godric, facing crowned bust under canopy supported by two columns, rev. +godric on Ðeotfodi, fleured quadrilateral with incurved sides, annulet at centre (Allen BNJ 2012, p.82; N.843; S.1252), looks to be a field find with pitting in areas and with surface stress to right of bust, small edge knock at 8 o'clock, otherwise presentable with some good detail remaining to bust and canopy, very fine, Thetford a rare mint in this type
