(x) Richard II (1377-99), Noble, uncertain weight, Calais, type IIIa, French title resumed, m.m. cross pattée, king standing facing in ship holding sword and shield, pennant on stern, angl z franc dns hib z aq[?], rev. floriate cross extending from a central panel containing a letter r crowned leopard in each angle (Stewartby IIIa, p.254; N.1308; S.1662), struck from a rusty obverse die, small edge graze on reverse, a fairly full piece and quite presentable, good very fine, in PGCS slab and graded AU55
