Hiberno-Norse Vikings, early period, 919-25, Penny, 1.18g, St Peter sword type, sci¯pe / triiio in two lines, divided by sword placed horizontally across field, pommel to the left, trefoil of pellets at tip of sword, letter i in legend represented by an inverted voided mallet, rev. +eroracei divided by annulet between each letter, cross pattée with pellets in angles within inner circle (Blackburn II, p.38; N.555; S.1014), a few scuffs and small flan knock by voided mallet, this piece fulll and particularly well-rounded, a good strike and nearly extremely fine
