Lieutenant Colonel Robert Harry Lucas Cordner (1878-1967), born Mussoorie, India, 1878; educated at Dulwich College; qualified at St. George's Hospital, London, 1903; Assistant House Surgeon, Devon & Exeter Hospital and Junior House Surgeon, Birkenhead 1903-4; commissioned Lieutenant, Royal Army Medical Corps, 30.7.1904; promoted Captain 1908; served during the Great War in the French theatre of war, from 11.8.1914 (MIC gives ineligible for Bar); advanced Lieutenant Colonel 26.12.1917; served as Senior Medical Officer, West Africa Command, 1918-19; served in Mesopotamia from 1920-21, from where he was invalided; later postings included the Rhine and at Shanghai; a Specialist in Physical Training; Lieutenant Colonel Cordner died at the Royal Pier Hotel, Weston Super Mare.
