L-7879 Corporal John Henry Fathers, born Greenwich, London, 1883; enlisted in the Royal West Kent Regiment, October 1904; promoted Corporal, 21.2.1908; served with the Regiment during the Great War on the Western Front from 1.6.1915; (wounded and awarded Silver War Badge); discharged as a result of his wounds, 3.3.1919, after 14 years and 149 days with the Colours.
