Mexican-American war cover correspondence comprised of 46 covers without enclosures sent in 1847 from Frank Woodbridge back to his wife in Detroit, each with endorsement noting date and location, better postal markings include straightline "PT Isabela/Jan . 16, 1847" and matching "10" rate, two different sizes of straightline "Vera Cruz/Mex" dated handstamp, one with "X" rate, five covers with boxed "Vera Cruz" dated handstamp and matching "10" rate, except one with ms. "20" rate, 25 covers with New Orleans transit datestamps in black or blue with handstamped "10" or "20" rates, except one with "Ship" handstamp and ms. "12" rate, plus ten covers with only ms. "10" rate (one due 10) and two covers with no postal markings at all, mixed condition as is typical of a correspondence, ranging from faulty to very fine, with most being fine or better; an interesting correspondence deserving to be researched.
