U.S. #26, 3c Dull red, tied to small 7-star Flag patriotic cover (CSA Catalog-Dietz #F7-7A) to Big Spring, Va. by unusual and rare dark green rimless grid with matching "ChristianBurgh/Va./May 12" c.d.s. at left, small piece of backflap missing with a trivial closed edge tear which does not in any way detract from the cover's attractiveness, very fine; an especially scarce usage of a scarce patriotic design just after secession while United States postage was still in use; 1980 PF certificate.
