#27, 1888 "2d." surcharge in green on 2p Lilac, used, quite well centered, fresh color, portion of a numeral "555" in bars cancel of Vryburg, very faint diagonal crease at bottom left which is of little significance to this rarity as most of the few known are usually found with more serious flaws, fine and one of the more attractive examples available; originally a trial overprint, one sheet was put into use Vryburg and only a tiny number have survived; 1991 PF certificate (S.G. #23c; £4,000).
