#40L1, City Despatch Post 3c Black on grayish, a spectacular right sheet-margin mint example of the first adhesive postage stamp ever issued in the United States, featuring a very sizable sheet margin, and the other three margins are exceedingly large and showing all frame lines, marvelously bright and fresh for a stamp of this vintage, full clean o.g., never hinged, superb; we doubt a finer never hinged example of this stamp exists; 2008 PF certificate (Gem 100; SSV does not price local stamps).
