1865 (16 Feb.) envelope from Port Chalmers "via Marseilles" to England showing, on reverse, an "all over" advertisement in pink for the Royal Hotel, George St., bearing 1864 watermark NZ perf. 12½ 6d. red-brown and 1864-67 watermark Star 2d. Plate I worn vertical pair with stepped perforations, all with very light indistinct numeral cancellations, London Paid c.d.s. (12.4) alongside, the reverse with despatch and Dorchester (12.4) c.d.s.; the stamps lifted and hinged back in place. An unusual combination franking. Holcombe Certificate (1988). Photo
