Ship Letter Mail Featuring Early Handstamps
1848 (Sept.) and 1848 (Dec.) entire ex the Gilbert Burns correspondence to Ireland, variously rated "4" and "8" and both showing Crowned Circle "paid/at/wellington.new.zealand" handstamp, Wellington and London datestamps on reverse; a few faults though an interesting pair written before and after the Post Office was moved across the harbour to the New Zealand company store at Koputai (Port Chalmers).
