#464, 3c Violet, a spectacular jumbo-margined mint left sheet-margin plate no. 7254 single of this difficult and often faked stamp, possessing outstanding centering within four enormously large and wonderfully balanced margins, strong rich color on fresh paper, o.g., n.h., extremely fine gem; a stamp for the collector who seeks out stamps of both enormous size and with exceptional centering; 1994 PF certificate and a 2008 PSE certificate (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo; SMQ $1,700.00 as 95 and $5,650.00 as 98); the highest grade awarded to date by the PSE for a Scott #464, and the sole example to be so graded.
