Bruce Lee’s Mukjong Wing Chun Mastery... Bruce Lee used this prestigious wooden Mukjong in his personal training regime to develop his phenomenal hand-speed, timing, forearm conditioning and reflexes. Bruce was introduced to Wing Chun when he was 14 years of age. His Sifu was none other than the legendary Grandmaster Ip Man. Wing Chun remained Bruce’s base art and helped greatly in his progressive journey to perfecting the principles of Jeet Kune Do-his groundbreaking fighting system. Bruce loved the wooden dummy so much that he ordered two custom- built models (with a neck adaptation for Jeet Kune Do training) from his former alma mater, the celebrated Ip Man Wing Chun School in Hong Kong. Bruce’s mother, Grace, sent both Mukjong to her son in Seattle, Washington, in the early 1960’s, and Lee used the apparatus not only to develop his own training but that of senior students, including Taky Kimura. Out of the two original mukjong that were ordered, only this one remains. Ex Taky Kimura
