1918 (Jan.) typewritten letter on Ministry of Munitions letter head signed "Winston S. Churchill", to H.H. Piggott congratulating him on the award of the C.B.E. Winston Churchill was Prime Minister from 1940-45 and 1951-55, at this time he was Minister of Munitions (July 1917 - Jan. 1919) before being made Secretary of State for War. There are some minor age marks along the lower fold and with the original envelope (foxed). A good example of this popular signature. Photo

Sir Henry Piggott was in the Ministry of Munitions in 1917 and in 1928 was Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Transport
