Chamberlain, the inventor of the aluminium foil strip and other security features in banknotes, comprising several books, all with hand written dedications to Chaimberlain; The Bank of England Note, A.D. Mackenzie, 1953, The Bank of England from Within, W.M.Acres, Volumes 1 and 2, 1931, Paper Making, Dard Hunter, 1947, The St. Luke's Printing Works of the Bank of England, Herbert George de Fraine, 1931, also original copies of the patent specifications for several of his inventions and improvements, a box made in 1935 from one of the original wooden piles of the 1797 Bank of England, a charming engraving by Stephen Gooden illustrating (and making fun of) the engraving process, two large format watermarks on high quality paper showing George V and Queen Mary, and a reproduction photo of Chamberlain,
an interesting and charming lot related to one of the pioneers of banknote printing (15)
